·               Objectives of the journal: This journal aims to enhance the documentary heritage of the Lisbon Municipal Archive among the national and international scientific community, promoting its dissemination and use, and contributing to the dissemination of scientific knowledge through the publication of studies in the Social Sciences and Humanities.

·               Areas of interest of the journal: Social and Human Sciences (Anthropology, Architecture, Geography, History, Sociology, Urbanism, among others).

·               History of the journal: The journal has a first printed edition which ended in number 10, and an online second series, begun in 2014, in open access.

·               Frequency: Two issues a year (January and July) released on a continuous basis.

Cadernos do Arquivo Municipal offers free and immediate access to its contents, without embargoes or charges, observing all the principles and ethical recommendations for scientific publications. The journal follows the premise that making scientific knowledge publicly and freely available allows greater democratisation and access to this scientific knowledge, which must be shared, used and reused.

The authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License CC BY-NC 4.0 which allows sharing and adapting the text as long as its authorship is correctly attribbuted with recognition of the initial publication in this journal.

The journal reserves the right to publish, reproduce and disseminate the articles on the website of the Lisbon Municipal Archives, in open access repositories and directories.

This journal uses the PKP PN (Preservation Network) system, which ensures access to the original version of its contents and its long-term preservation.
