EGG
is published tri-annually by ISCTE – Lisbon University Institute Business
School. Its core theme is the analysis of the trends and problems of a
global market economy in transition. Focus may be given either to the
world context as a whole, the national context or to «mega-regions»,
such as the European Union, Asia Pacific or Southern Africa.
EGG also includes the publication of theoretical or applied studies in the various fields of management, including problems of the so-called non-profit organisations and of the social economy. Openness and the convergence of the different disciplinary perspectives in the field of Social Sciences are encouraged and EGG focuses particularly on the multi cultural paradigm of human development. In the first years of its publication, ISCTE – Lisbon University Institute Management Department worked in close collaboration with the University of Macao, the Hong Kong and Macao Studies Institute of the Zhongshan University of Canton. In this new phase, EGG seeks to develop cooperation with authors and entities which share its mission from any part of the world. However, and as a result of extension of the work of ISCTE – Lisbon University Institute Business School to different regions, there will be special emphasis on Brazil, Portuguese speaking Africa and China. Any collaboration from the authors in the general interest of the review
is welcomed. The articles sent to the Director will be analysed by two
independent referees, members of the Editorial Committee or by people
proposed by them in accordance with the subject matter. The texts may
be in English, Portuguese or Spanish. |

Form and preparation of manuscripts

1. Articles may be written in English, post-reform Portuguese (from Portugal, or other) or Spanish using Word format, in Times New Roman, font size 12 and 1.5 line spacing with a maximum of fifty thousand characters (including spaces, abstract, key words, cv, figures, tables and graphs, notes and bibliographic references). 2. In order to encourage and intensify exchanges in the national and international scientific community, and to enable this Review to be included in the SciELO Plataform (www.scielo.org), articles must include not only the title in Portuguese and English, but also the resumo in Portuguese and the abstract in English, each with no more than one thousand characters. The resumo/abstract should present the objective of the work, methodology followed, results obtained and conclusions presented. 3. Following the abstract, it is essential that key words and palavras-chave, which are representative of the work (maximum of five), are given for indexing purposes. After that, it must be added the JEL classification or classificação JEL. 4. All proposals must include a short cv (no more than three lines) of the authors in Portuguese or Spanish and English, i.e., institutional position, academic qualification, current responsibilities, e-mail, telephone and address to which correspondence should be sent. 5. The order of the work must be as follows: page with the title in the original language, name, e-mail and short cv of the authors in Portuguese or Spanish and English (the original language first), immediately after the repetition of the title in the original language, the resumo/abstract (firstly in the original language of the work), palavras-chave/key words (according to the language of the article), title translated into Portuguese or English (depending on the language of the work), date of the conclusion of the work, text, notes, bibliographic references and annexes. 6. Authors writing in English must have an excellent knowledge of the language. If the quality of the English is below standard, the work may not be accepted. However, all work is revised. 7. The bibliographic references must be put in the text according to the “name, date” system (i.e., Hughes, 2000). When citing authors, the page number(s) must be added, e.g.: - “Hence, Shah (1998) classifies it as…”, “As referred by Kelly (1995, p. 62)...” or “On public expectations, Davidson (1975, pp. 47-50)...” - Various authors: (Farr and Moscovici, 1984) or (Lewin et al., 1944) 8. The list of bibliographic references, which is obligatory and found at the end of the text, must be in alphabetical order and comply with the format in the following examples: - Book: FLOWERS, S. Material should be delivered with electronic support, preferably on an e-mail attachment. It is essential that all figures, graphs and tables are sent separately from the document in graph format (tif or eps), each on a separate page to simplify paging. Their place in the text should be indicated by a well marked intercalar line (i.e., “Figure 1 goes approximately here”). 10. Non-compliance with these publication norms leads to delays in their evaluation and paging and may result in the rejection of the work. 11. The articles are assessed by referees who may make suggestions to the author for improvements. This is a double blind process, i.e., the referees do not know who the author is and equally the author does not know who the referee is. 12. Proposals which do not receive an answer from the editor within three months should be considered rejected. In this case, the work is not returned but we guarantee it will be destroyed. The author will be notified if the work is accepted for publication. 13. On sending an article, it is understood that it is for exclusive publication in this Review and that it is of the entire responsibility of the author. 14. Authors will receive two complimentary copies of the issue of the Review in which their article is published. Correspondence should be sent to: |
