Basic Information

 
  • GE - Jornal Português de Gastrenterologia (Portuguese Journal of Gastroenterology) is the property of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Gastrenterologia (Portuguese Society of Gastroenterology) and its head offices are located at Av. António José de Almeida, nº 5F-8º, 1000-042, Lisbon, Portugal. It is the official organ of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Gastrenterologia, Sociedade Portuguesa de Endoscopia Digestiva (the Portuguese Society of Digestive Endoscopy) and Associação Portuguesa para o Estudo do Fígado (Portuguese Association for Liver Study).
  • Prof. Dr. Helena Cortez-Pinto is the current editor.
  • The journal’s objectives are to publish and disseminate scientific articles in the field of gastroenterology, including the basic sciences, clinical practice and research. It encompasses all areas of gastroenterology, namely the digestive tract, liver and pancreas, and takes the form of original articles, review articles, clinical case studies, letters to the editor, editorials, images, endoscopic briefs, summaries of talks and posters presented at the annual conference of Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy, and other articles of recognised scientific value of interest to the speciality.
  • The Jornal Português de Gastrenterologia, which has been published regularly since 1994, is the only generalist Portuguese journal. It took the place of the Revista de Gastrenterologia (Gastroenterology Journal), which had been published beginning in 1983.
  • It is published 6 issues per year, and occasionally publishes supplements on issues relating to the speciality or reports on consensus conferences.
  • It is referenced using the title J Port Gastrenterol.
