Resumo Este artigo parte de uma perspetiva sobre o conceito de ausência na escrita de Marguerite Duras, tomando como foco principal Le Ravissement de Lol V. Stein e L’Amante anglaise. A análise destas obras incide sobre personagens (in)determinadas pelo amor e pelo crime com o objetivo de estudar a condição do sujeito feminino na obra durasiana.

Abstract In this article we aim to study the concept of absence in the Marguerite Dura’s writing focusing mainly on Le Ravissement de Lol V. Stein and L’Amante anglaise. We will examine women characters (un)determined by love and crime with the purpose of analysing the conditions of the feminine subject in Duras’ works.

Maria Lusitania (1975) by Charlotte Delbo (1913-1985): Female voices of the Carnation Revolution by a French resistance fighter

Résumé En 1975, Charlotte Delbo écrit une pièce de théâtre où elle dépeint une héroïne qu’elle nomme Maria Lusitania, sorte de “ mère courage ” à la portugaise. C’est par ce point de vue féminin que l’autrice expose de façon très lucide les enjeux au moment où le Portugal va basculer de la dictature à la démocratie. Elle traduit la tension perceptible entre les personnages qui constituent une galerie de portraits emblématiques de la situation vécue alors dans le pays, après 48 ans de dictature. En filigrane, apparaît l’expérience endurée par Charlotte Delbo dans les camps de concentration, élément qui conditionne le rapport des personnages à leur corps. Ce texte qui mêle lyrisme, comique et tirades enjouées est porteur des mémoires croisées du regard de la résistante française sur l’Avril. Cet article évoque une forme de “ mémoires croisées ”, qui permet de mettre en lien les champs historique et esthétique.

Resumo Em 1975, Charlotte Delbo escreve uma peça de teatro em que retrata uma heroína chamada Maria Lusitânia, uma espécie de “Mãe Coragem” à portuguesa. É através de um ponto de vista feminino que a autora expõe com lucidez os desafios que se colocam à transição da ditadura para a democracia em Portugal. Delbo traduz uma tensão perceptível entre as personagens, que formam uma galeria de retratos emblemáticos da situação do país na altura, após 48 anos de ditadura. A experiência de Charlotte Delbo nos campos de concentração é um tema subjacente, condicionando a relação das personagens com o seu corpo. Este texto, que combina lirismo, comédia e tiradas ligeiras, transmite as memórias e visão de Abril da combatente da resistência francesa. Este artigo evoca uma forma de “memória cruzada”, interligando os domínios da história e da estética.

Abstract In 1975, Charlotte Delbo wrote a play in which she portrays a heroine called Maria Lusitania, a sort of Portuguese “mother courage”. Through a female point of view, the author lucidly sets out the issues at stake as Portugal moved from dictatorship to democracy. She conveys the perceptible tension between the characters, who form a gallery of portraits emblematic of the situation in the country at the time, after 48 years of dictatorship. Charlotte Delbo’s experience in the concentration camps is an underlying theme, conditioning the characters’ relationship with their bodies. This text, which combines lyricism, comedy and light-hearted tirades, conveys the memories of the French Resistance fighter’s view of April. This article evokes a form of “crossed memory”, linking the historical and aesthetic fields.

“That is not literature”: Marginal readings in À Flor do Tempo by Ilse Losa

Resumo Este artigo propõe uma releitura de algumas crónicas de Ilse Losa, analisando o modo como convocam o universo literário da própria autora, implicando também uma rede de outras leituras, que surgem de forma marginal no espaço textual da crónica, em si mesmo situado nas margens do cânone.

Abstract This article proposes a re-reading of some chronicles by Ilse Losa, in order to access how the call upon the literary universe of the author and imply a network of other readings, which appear in a marginal way in the textual space of the chronicle, itself situated on the margins of the canon.

Affective colonizations and somatic experience: The practice of biodanza in the production of gender relations

Resumo Através da análise do conteúdo de entrevistas semiestruturadas, realizadas em 2020, com dez pessoas que participam de uma prática somática chamada biodanza, discutimos as aproximações e os distanciamentos subjetivos em relação às maneiras pelas quais os dispositivos de gênero operam, forjando modos de existir e estabelecendo sentidos às relações que sustentam subordinações das mulheres aos homens. A discussão gira, por um lado, em torno das reproduções falocêntricas encontradas nas narrativas e, por outro, de aspectos das narrativas que apontam para a subversão dos modelos binários de gênero, por meio da instauração de situações vivenciais.

Abstract Through the analysis of the content of semi-structured interviews, carried out in 2020, with 10 people who participate of somatic practice, called biodanza, we discuss the approximations and subjective distances in relation to the ways in which gender devices operate, forging ways of existing and establishing meanings for the relationships that support the subordination of women to men. The discussion revolves, on the one hand, around the phallocentric reproductions found in the narratives and, on the other hand, aspects of the narratives that point to the subversion of binary gender models, through the establishment of experiential situations.

Women and religious spaces in the city: A case of ‘activism’ in the Loures cemetery

Resumo Na historiografia dos cemitérios, quando comparadas com os homens, as mulheres - embora sempre presentes na forma como têm sido retratadas - foram frequentemente invisibilizadas quanto ao papel social que neles tiveram. Esta pesquisa procurou evidenciar os papéis femininos no que concerne à materialidade dos cemitérios em contexto urbano contemporâneo. O caso de estudo incidiu no Cemitério Municipal de Loures (inserido na Área Metropolitana de Lisboa), onde se encontram sepultadas destacadas figuras masculinas locais. A propósito da capela nele existente, salienta-se o importante, mas quase esquecido, serviço prestado pelas mulheres na passagem dos rituais fúnebres do lugar privado da residência para o espaço público do cemitério.

Abstract In the historiography of cemeteries, when compared to men, women - although always present in the way they have been portrayed - have often been invisible as to the social role they had in them. This research sought to highlight the female roles regarding the materiality of cemeteries in contemporary urban context. The case study focused on the Loures Municipal Cemetery (inserted in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area), where outstanding local male figures are buried. Regarding the chapel present there is the important but almost forgotten, service provided by women in the passage of the funeral rituals of the private place from the residence to the public space of the cemetery.

A mulher oitocentista em Cenas de África? Romance Íntimo

Resumo A obra Cenas de África ? Romance Íntimo, de Pedro Félix Machado, é uma história de amor localizada nos cenários da Angola e da metrópole oitocentistas. O seu retrato da sociedade luandense inclui personagens femininas que reflectem vivências de mulheres que então habitavam a cidade. Sendo figuras burguesas, este estudo tenta perceber se tais personagens se identificam com o modelo social prescrito para as mulheres pelos valores burgueses oitocentistas. Tidas as suas capacidades por inferiores às dos homens, afirmava-se que eram especialmente dotadas para a gestão doméstica. Conclui-se que as personagens femininas aderem no geral a esse figurino.

Abstract The novel Cenas de África? Romance Íntimo by Pedro Félix Machado is a love story set against the backdrop of Angola and the metropolis in the XIX century. Its portrait of Luandan society includes female characters who reflect the experiences of women who inhabited the city at the time. Being bourgeois characters, this study seeks to understand whether they identify with the social model prescribed for women by nineteenth century bourgeois values. Since their abilities were considered inferior to those of men, it was said that they were specially gifted for domestic management. It is concluded that the female characters generally adhere to this model.
