Introduction:

Action research in health combined with group dynamics is assumed to enhance the production of scientific knowledge.

Objectives:

Discuss the possible application of Group Dynamic in participant research in the context of health.

Methods:

Considerations are draw from experiences with groups at users, SUS health care workers and undergraduate students Medicine, Psychology, and Music Therapy curses. This work discusses the planning of group actions and its elements: structure, process and content.

Results:

Group intervention is used as a methodology of action research rich in resources and strategies. It proved to be effective for elaboration of fragilities, necessities and potentialities encountered in the field.

Conclusions:

The research allows new responses to the challenges that arise in health contexts by involving the actors in the processes of change and overcoming reality.
