^lpt^aA fractura-luxação de Monteggia é uma lesão rara, com resultados funcionais menos favoráveis quando associada aos seguintes factores prognósticos: fractura Bado tipo II, fractura tipo IIa de Júpiter, associação com fractura da apófise coronóide e/ou da tacícula radial e complicações com necessidade de revisão cirúrgica. Os autores apresentam a sua experiência no tratamento desta lesão em onze doentes tratados cirurgicamente sendo apresentados os resultados funcionais, as lesões associadas concomitantes e a metodologia de tratamento e as complicações ocorridas.^len^aThe Monteggia frature in adults is a rare injury, associated with bad functional results when the following factors are present: Bado type II frature, Jupiter type IIa frature, association with coronoid frature and/or radial head frature and necessity of surgical revision after the initial surgical treatment. The authors transmit their experience in the treatment of eleven patients with Monteggia frature, describe the associated lesions and how they were treated. The functional results achieved and the complications are reported.
