CARVALHO, Manuel et al. Proliferação osteocondral periostal bizarra ou lesão de Nora. []. , 21, 1, pp.51-56. ISSN 1646-2122.

The authors present a brief literature review supported on a case report of a rare and benign lesion which normally affects the hand. BPOP and periosteal chondroma are clinically very similar. The clinical history and physical examination are not sufficient to make the differential diagnosis. Histopathology examination makes differentiation between these two lesions. Both of these lesions should be considered in the differential diagnosis of hand tumours. Diagnosis is made by histopathological examination and it should be performed in order to obtain a definitive diagnosis. The BPOP has a high recurrence rate and so radical surgical excision is mandatory in order to make a certain diagnosis and decrease recurrence risk.

: Osteochondroma; hand tumours; Nora’s lesion.
