GONCALVES, António et al. Tumor glómico subungueal: A propósito de um caso. []. , 25, 1, pp.56-62. ISSN 1646-2122.

Glomus tumors are benign and rare tumors, (1-2% of soft tissue tumors of the hand). They are usually located in the distal extremities (fingers, palms and soles), subungueal in 50% of cases. The symptoms that characterize this pathology in 63-100% are local hypersensitivity, sensitivity to cold, intermittent and severe pain. The definitive diagnosis is histological. Clinical tests allow an objective identification of these lesions. We present a case of a 69-year-old female patient with a 2-year history of pain in the distal extremity of the second finger of the right hand, with the associated symptoms of local hypersensitivity and exacerbation of pain with cold. She had all positive clinical tests and had ultrasonography that was compatible with glomus tumor. An excision was made and the resection sample was sent for histological study that confirmed the diagnosis.
