GONCALVES, António et al. Luxação traumática da anca na criança: caso clínico e breve revisão bibliográfica. []. , 25, 3, pp.229-235. ISSN 1646-2122.

Traumatic dislocation of the hip in the child is a rare lesion that, among other complications, may result in avascular necrosis of the femoral head. It is a medical emergency and its quick diagnosis and resolution are key to minimizing the risk of complications. The authors present a case report of a 3-year-old female child, who went to the emergency department after a low energy fall, with about 1h of evolution. She presented with functional incapacity, hip flexion, slight adduction and internal rotation, with pain located at the level of the right hip, with no apparent neurological lesion. Her x-ray showed posterior-superior dislocation of the right hip. Non-invasive reduction under general anaesthesia was performed in the operating room and immobilization with percutaneous traction was applied.
