Domestic violence has been gaining increasing visibility, both nationally and internationally; however, it remains undervalued and underdiagnosed, particularly in the healthcare setting. It is therefore imperative that all healthcare professionals, especially physicians, know how to approach, diagnose and intervene in this context, safeguarding their duty of medical secrecy and confidentiality
