ALONSO, Celina; BRANDAO, Catarina    GONCALVES, Sónia P.. How the COVID-19 Pandemic Affected the Restaurants Sector in Portugal - Qualitative Thematic Analysis with the Support of MaxQDA. []. , 9, pp.312-319.   20--2021. ISSN 2184-7770.  https://doi.org/10.36367/ntqr.9.2021.312-319.

Thematic analysis (TA), chosen as an analysis tool for this study, provides accessible and systematic procedures for the generation of codes and themes from qualitative data. The study was conducted with representatives of employers' and trade union associations in the catering area, the interviews were conducted in an online and in-person format, and a qualitative TA of the data was carried out, supported by the MaxQda software. The provisional results show that the COVID-19 pandemic caused severe economic damage in the catering sector, and the use of CAQDAS is very facilitating in conducting the TA of the interviews. The use of CAQDAS in qualitative research is fundamental to enhance the analysis process and the results. However, it does not mitigate the fundamental role of the researcher in its interpretation and in the entire conduct of the research.
