Abstract

In cases of end stage diseases that can affect various organs essential to human life, such as the kidney, liver, heart, lungs and pancreas, solid organ transplantation is a good option. some of these end-stage diseases, among many other aspects, can affect women’s fertility. Thus, in most cases, transplantation not only improves the survival but also the reproductive function of these women and several successful pregnancies have been reported within this group of pregnant women. Nevertheless, these women have a higher risk of obstetric complications during pregnancy, such as hypertension, preeclampsia, preterm delivery, spontaneous abortion, low birth weight and fetal growth restriction. This article reviews the available information on the subject, highlighting the most common complications and precautions before during and after pregnancy.
