Abstract

MORAES, Jéssica Tairâne de  and  FELIPE, Jane. Secrecy, anonymity and ethics in research with children. Rev. Port. de Educação [online]. 2022, vol.35, n.1, pp.226-241.  Epub July 21, 2022. ISSN 0871-9187.  https://doi.org/10.21814/rpe.20909.

This article discusses some theoretical-methodological and ethical aspects involved in the construction of a research carried out with five-year-old children, students of the municipal network of Early Childhood Education, in a city in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre, located in the state of Rio Grande South / Brazil. The main objective of the investigation sought to understand how children perceived and interpreted gender-based violence experienced in the family and / or in their surroundings. Based on the theories proposed by the Sociology of Childhood and Gender Studies, strategies were used to promote this debate with children through conversation and literary reading. The results of the research pointed to the importance of children's participation in the development of research and within ethical principles, involving respect for their worldviews, enabling the recognition and identification of situations of violence and their possible consequences.
