Abstract

FREIRE, Maria Raquel  and  DAEHNHARDT, Patrícia. Germany and Russia relations: two foreign policies in transition. Relações Internacionais [online]. 2011, n.32, pp.171-196. ISSN 1645-9199.

This article analyses the foreign policies of Germany and the Russian Federation focusing on the post-Cold War transition period up to the present. The article argues that the analysis of this bilateral relationship implies the centrality of historical, political, economic and energy security aspects, which have been underlying the development of this relationship, confirming a historical past of cooperation and even proximity in some fundamental moments in the German-Russian relationship.

Keywords : Germany; Russia; Cold War; Europe.
