Abstract

PERES, Handel Emanuel Natividade; PAIVA, Victor Araújo de  and  XAVIER, Nathan Augusto Zacarias. Real-Time Control and Monitoring Gases System for Household use with Anti-Leakage Technology. RISTI [online]. 2021, n.44, pp.84-99.  Epub Dec 31, 2021. ISSN 1646-9895.  https://doi.org/10.17013/risti.44.84-99.

Every day, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and natural gas are used in houses and enterprises. Among their different uses, the ones that stand out are cooking, heating, and refrigeration. Their usage is due to their high caloric efficiency when compared to other traditional combustibles. Furthermore, the absence of heavy metals, soot, and smoke during their combustion justifies their importance. Despite their advantages, their inhalation can induce asphyxia, dizziness, respiratory irritation, and may cause explosions, becoming important for the use of methods and preventive technologies. This project aimed at the development of a low-cost system that could simultaneously monitor and control gas leakage and usage in residential stoves. As implemented, the obtained results certify that the system is able to guarantee the safety against gas leakage timely through the LPG concentration.
