Abstract

SOUSA, Ana Matilde Diogo de. Pixiv Kids: young female Japanese creators in online artistic communities. Estúdio [online]. 2013, vol.4, n.7, pp.77-91. ISSN 1647-6158.

At a time when Japanese pop culture becomes, increasingly, a phenomenon of global relevance - in contemporary art as well - virtual artistic communities like Pixiv (ピクシブ) allow us to come into contact with the work of a new generation on nipponese authors. I will briefly analyze works by six of them, focusing on the appropriation of the manga-anime visual language, as well as kawaii ("cute") aesthetics.

Keywords : Japan; Pixiv; Kawaii; Moe; Manga.
