Abstract

DONATI, Luisa Angélica Paraguai. Olfactory forms in Oswaldo Maciá. Estúdio [online]. 2020, vol.11, n.30, pp.112-119.  Epub June 30, 2020. ISSN 1647-6158.

The text is concerned with the Oswaldo Maciá’s work “Under the Horizon” (2011-2019), to understand the perceptive constructions in the artist’s making, not as representational system of objects, but as processual dialogic action, which integrates the semantic and causal combination of odorant elements to contextual experiences (Barwich, 2018). By choosing smell as the ordering principle of meaning, one can rethink the conforming patterns of our primarily visual culture and revise the model for the philosophical perspective of perception.

Keywords : olfactory forms; perception; olfactory process.
