Abstract
MARQUES, Andreia; MARTINS, Bruno and LOEWENTHAL, Cristina. 2-[18F]-FDG-PET in the Differential Diagnosis between Alzheimer’s Disease and Frontotemporal Dementia. Acta Radiol Port [online]. 2022, vol.34, n.3, pp.30-31. Epub Dec 30, 2022. ISSN 2183-1351. https://doi.org/10.25748/arp.25724.
The differential diagnosis between Alzheimer's Disease and Frontotemporal Dementia is based on clinical evaluation, however 2-[18F]-FDG-PET allows the recognition of different metabolism patterns that are useful for distinguishing these entities.
We present the case of a patient with the clinical suspicion of Frontotemporal Dementia who underwent 2-[18F]-FDG-PET, which showed a metabolism pattern characteristic of Alzheimer's Disease.
