Abstract
GERALDES, Luísa and ALENDOURO, Paula. Hipersensibilidade a fármacos - Os suspeitos do costume e os inusitados. Rev Port Imunoalergologia [online]. 2016, vol.24, n.2, pp.78-85. ISSN 0871-9721.
In order to understand hypersensitivity reactions to drugs over years, in different pharmacological classes or populations, an analysis of epidemiological studies on adverse and hypersensitivity reactions to drugs since 1964 until today was made. The information in these studies was collected, mostly, by medical, pharmacovigilance system and self-report questionnaires records. In Portugal there are some studies with data analysis from anaphylaxis notification of the Portuguese Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology or Portuguese Report of Allergy and Adverse Reactions. We concluded that hypersensitivity to beta-lactam antibiotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like acetylsalicylic acid and propionic acids derivates, have a high prevalence over time and patient age. Less frequent hypersensitivity reactions to anaesthetic drugs, iodinated contrast media, antiepileptic, hormonal substitutes, vitamin supplements and vaccines were reported in the same analysis. Immunological reactions with the use of anti-monoclonal antibodies and chemotherapy drugs are increasingly described. Unusual hypersensitivity reports of reactions to non-beta-lactam antibiotics, corticosteroids, proton pump inhibitors and gadolinium contrast medium were also founded
