Abstract
Biosorption is the passive sequestration of pollutants by non-metabolizing non-living biomass. The technique emerged in 1980s as a possible alternative method for wastewater treatments in an environmentally friendly manner. In this paper it is shown that a basic research in biosorption processes is closely related to the field of Electrochemistry according to the conceptual division of this area in Ionics and Electrodics.
Keywords: electrochemistry, biosorption, master curve, electrostatics effects
