Abstract
ZAPATA, Belén Cruz; NINIROLA, Antonio Hernández; FERNANDEZ-ALEMAN, José Luis and TOVAL, Ambrosio. Privacy and Security in Mobile Personal Health Records for Android and iOS. RISTI [online]. 2014, n.13, pp.35-50. ISSN 1646-9895. https://doi.org/10.4304/risti.13.35-50.
In the last few years, the increment in use of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets has caused the interest of health service providers in the world of mHealth. Mobile Personal Health Records (mPHR) lead to a number of benefits and there are studies that notice how patients are willing to use them. However, utilization rates are low. Security and privacy have been identified as important adoption barriers and should therefore be addressed. Using a method similar to the well-known Systematic Literature Review, 24 mPHRs for Android and iOS were identified. The security and privacy of the mPHRs were evaluated through a questionnaire containing 12 questions. Our research shows that mPHRs developers should improve significantly their privacy policies.
