Abstract
MIGUEL, Isália et al. Retroperitoneal sarcoma. Arq Med [online]. 2011, vol.25, n.5-6, pp.180-182. ISSN 2183-2447.
Soft tissue sarcomas are rare, representing less than 1% of all neoplasias. One third of malignant retroperitoneal tumors are sarcomas, of which only 7% are undifferentiated pleomorfic sarcomas. CT scan is generally used for evaluate the localization, extension and eventual dissemination of the disease. Surgical resection is the standard treatment for undifferentiated pleomorfic sarcomas. Although with a known high recurrence rate, mostly hepatic and pulmonary, the benefit of adjuvant chemotherapy or radiotherapy is not proved1.
