Abstract
FILHO, Aluizio Alves. Political and administrative mechanisms in the formation and consolidation of the Brazilian National State (1808-1889). Rev. Portuguesa e Brasileira de Gestão [online]. 2009, vol.8, n.1, pp.100-110. ISSN 1645-4464.
The purpose of this study is to systematically reflect on the process of formation and consolidation of the Brazilian National State. The epoch under consideration is the period between the arrival of the Portuguese Court to Brazil (1808) and the proclamation of the Republic (1889). We put in evidence some political and administrative mechanisms that allowed such training and consolidation, as well as certain structural characteristics forged over our historical process that gave peculiarity to Brazil and its national identity.
