The Knowledge Management (KM) implementation occurs in stages. It demands changes in the organization. The research goal is to develop a knowledge management maturity model. This research adopted the Life Cycle Theory principles. The research is qualitative with exploratory character. First, a proposal of knowledge management maturity model, named KM3, was developed based on existing models. Following that, the proposal was analyzed by professionals. The model stages and factors have been confirmed. The KM3 has five stages: Unawareness (2 factors), Planning (15 factors), Initiation (20 factors), Development (24 factors) and Integration (24 factors).
