Abstract
BARCELLOS, Paulo; BORELLA, Margareth; PERETTI, Jucelda and GALELLI, Ademar. Failure in collaborative networks: A multicase study. Rev. Portuguesa e Brasileira de Gestão [online]. 2012, vol.11, n.4, pp.49-57. ISSN 1645-4464.
The purpose of this study is to identify possible causes that led some collaborative networks to close. The six networks that took part in this study were formed according to the Collaborative Networks Program of the Government of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), under the local supervision of the University of Caxias do Sul. The methodology is based on multiple cases. Company managers of the networks that broke down were interviewed based on a semi-structured instrument. From respondents’ answers it is possible to pinpoint individualism, lack of trust, lack of commitment, and lack of leadership among the 12 reasons that led the collaborative networks to fail.
