XAVIER, Luiza A. O. P.; OLIVEIRA, Mírian and TEIXEIRA, Eduardo K.. Teorias utilizadas nas investigações sobre gestão do conhecimento. RISTI [online]. 2012, n.10, pp.1-17. ISSN 1646-9895. https://doi.org/10.4304/risti.10.1-18.
Knowledge management has been recognized by researchers and users as crucial to the growth and development of organizations. The Information Systems area contributes to research on knowledge management. This article aims to identify the main theories related to the information systems area that have been used in knowledge management research. The theories identified in about 40% of the articles analyzed are: Game Theory, Social Capital Theory, Theory of Planned Behavior, Social Exchange Theory, Dynamic Capabilities and Theory of Reasoned Action. It was found that these theories are used in both knowledge management research, and research into one of the steps in the knowledge management process, that is, knowledge sharing. Another noteworthy point is that the specific aspects of knowledge management, for example knowledge sharing antecedents, can be investigated using different theories.
