On the one hand, the growth of the internet and access to social media has changed the way people interact with each other and with companies. On the other hand, several maintainers of higher education provide educational services to millions of Brazilian students. This article aims to define an overview of social media used by maintainers and establish comparisons between engagement, the number of enrolled students, and profitably of the maintainers researched. It was possible to conclude that the most used social media are Facebook, LinkedIn, Youtube, Instagram, and Twitter. There is a directly proportional correspondence between the role of the maintainers on social media, the number of students and their profitability.
Keywords : social media; maintainers; engagement; number of enrolled students; profitably.
