Abstract
AFONSO, Cristina; CATALAO, Fernando; SILVA, Regina and MATOS, Sandra. Attitudes to physical activity and sports. PsychTech [online]. 2017, vol.1, n.1, pp.4-13. Epub Sep 29, 2021. ISSN 2184-1004. https://doi.org/10.26580/pthj.art1-2017.
The present study aimed to analyze whether favorable attitudes are associated with a predisposition for physical activity and sport and, on the other hand, if the lack of practice implies negative attitudes. A sample of 193 individuals was constituted, of which 92 are male and 101 are female, aged between 25 and 50 years. We collected the data through a questionnaire based on the Scale of Attitudes Towards Physical Activity and Sport (Dosil, 2002). We added two questions for measuring the practice of physical exercise. Our study indicated that the attitudes: perceived importance that the subject makes of activity and sport (Perceived Importance) and the possibility of practicing physical activity and sport (The Possibility of practicing Physical Activity) is positively correlated with physical exercise.
