Abstract
SOUZA, Francislê Neri de and SOUZA, Dayse Neri de. How Could Technology be Applied to Qualitative Analysis based on Grounded Theory?. NTQR [online]. 2022, vol.10, e537. Epub July 01, 2022. ISSN 2184-7770. https://doi.org/10.36367/ntqr.10.2022.e537.
Grounded theory was proposed in the sixties, and since then it has been modified and adapted in the most different areas of study and qualitative analysis techniques. In this article, we will propose the integration of technologies for qualitative analysis based on grounded theory (GT) procedures. For this, we proposed the integration of the webQDA® software for the GT's open, axial, and selective coding procedures among several operational and analytical advantages. Thus, we will present a theoretical discussion on the foundations of grounded theory and its variations over the last few decades. Afterwards, we will introduce the webQDA® software and how they can be used in seven transversal steps to various analytical needs that use the GT assumptions: 1st) Preparation of sources per analysis cycle; 2nd) Open Coding; 3rd) Axial Coding, 4th) Selective Coding; 5th) Open Encoding Debugging through “Frequent Word Search” and “Text Search”; 6th) Repetition of Steps 3 and 4 to deepen the Codification; 7th) Triangulation of Information with the matrices. Although not the focus of this article, these steps have been applied to several investigations that are part of the GT supported by the webQDA® software.
