Abstract
GONCALVES, Mathilde Silva. Saudi Arabian foreign policy, 2015-2022: the post-oil period is slow to arrive. Relações Internacionais [online]. 2023, n.80, pp.5-18. Epub Mar 31, 2024. ISSN 1645-9199. https://doi.org/10.23906/ri2023.80a01.
This article aims to contribute to the understanding of Saudi Arabian foreign policy, from 2015 onwards, a topic still little explored in the scientific literature in Portuguese language. It is explored the three levels of analysis that affect and are affected by Saudi Arabian foreign policy: the domestic, regional, and global levels. In 2015, the country has entered in a new era of its foreign policy through the ‘Salman Doctrine’ and intends to adapt to its context, not with the goal of change but continuity. Saudi Arabia has adapted to survive, to ensure the continuity of the state and of the Al-Saud dynasty.
Keywords : East; Saudi Arabia; foreign policy; economic transition.
