Abstract

MELO, Maria Benedita Portugal e. Patterns of reflexivity in the media: preliminary data . Anál. Social [online]. 2005, n.176, pp.595-617. ISSN 0003-2573.

Based on the underlying principles of how opinions are produced in the media, this study examines how the Público newspaper, throughout 2001, generated social self-comparisons and social reflexivity in connection with its dissemination of school rankings and shows how these processes were strongly affected by the effects of agenda-setting. Anne Barrère - Teamwork and class management risks The teaching profession today is encouraged to modernize, and one of the key methods prescribed for this is team work. In more independent schools teachers are invited, often by school heads, whose teaching role has increased in recent years, to expand the range of their traditional tasks. While teachers often seem to have trouble carrying out this instruction, they seem, paradoxically, happier as individual teachers to engage in more intensive class management, an aspect of their profession which they collectively share. I take the view that the release of a collective activity is a corollary of the ability to socialize this major teaching risk.
