The purpose of this article is to examine how the internal communication strategies influence the organizational commitment of labor inspectors of Autoridade para as Condições do Trabalho. Based on a survey applied to these professionals, the article argues the relationship between internal communication and organizational commitment variables. It concludes that internal communication positively influences organizational commitment, and the most significant antecedent of normative commitment is communication with the supervisor and the affective commitment the communicational environment
