Abstract
GONCALVES, C.; SILVA, F.; VASCONCELOS, H. and COTRIM, I.. Polipose linfomatosa múltipla. J Port Gastrenterol. [online]. 2006, vol.13, n.4, pp.191-195. ISSN 0872-8178.
Primary gastrointestinal lymphoma is a rare pathology, representing 1-4% of all gastrointestinal tumours. Lymphomas of colon and rectum are particularly uncommon, contributing only to 0,5% of all tumours of that region. We report on a case of a 55 year old man, diagnosed with multiple ymphomatous polyposis of mantle cell type. We review the most relevant clinical, histological and therapeutic aspects. It can be concluded that mantle cell lymphomas are the ones that most frequently present as multiple ymphomatous polyposis, with characteristic immunohistochemical positivity to cyclin D1. Those are usually aggressive, with medium survival of only 3 years, in spite of early systemic chemotherapy.
