Abstract

MARCONDES, Neide  and  MARTINS, Nara Silvia Marcondes. Under the sky of Venice: the Portuguese João Louro and Brazilian Andre Komatsu. Estúdio [online]. 2016, vol.7, n.16, pp.122-129. ISSN 1647-6158.

Today's world seems a complicated web of events; artists narrate in various modes of expression. We propose an interpretation / reading of João Louro and André Komatsu, contemporary artists, who participated in the 56th Venice Biennale, in 2015 being the first Portuguese, the latter Brazilian. Louro stood in the Palazzo Loredan and Komatsu in the Brazil Pavilion. Social and urban disorders are part of the concern of artworks and build the current idea of an aesthetic of immediacy, and sometimes dystopian.

Keywords : contemporary art; Venice Biennale; installations; interpretations.
