Abstract

QUEIROZ, João Paulo. Art, self decolonization and orientalism. Estúdio [online]. 2018, vol.9, n.22, pp.12-17. ISSN 1647-6158.

After the acceptance of post-colonial criticism, art has positioned itself in the first line of attack. Self-decolonization is urgent and needs an attentive, more independent, inclusive and mobilizing art. Perhaps this is a turn to be made: to constitute an anti-ideological vanguard that is pervasive and efficient, and, who knows, using the weapons of the enemy, the virtual formats. Or a kind of expression in which the authors manage to circulate their works, which, even if they do it, they will almost always have occasions of an unequal combat: the numbers of the virtual social media operators are overwhelming, and require some great reinvention.

Keywords : Post colonialism; power; ideological; reproduction; vanguard.
