Abstract

LLOBET, Jasmina  and  PONS, Luis Fernández. Renata Lucas: Approaches to the everyday in public space. Estúdio [online]. 2020, vol.11, n.31, pp.80-87.  Epub Sep 30, 2020. ISSN 1647-6158.

Brazilian artist Renata Lucas’ public space interventions study our experience of the everyday aiming to turn it upside down, and take us into subtly disruptive transformations of the urban landscape. Lucas’ projects reinvent site-specific art through a very personal poetic approach and sense of humour. Playing with the almost indiscernible, Lucas creates devices that link the art institution with the outside, and so escape the general state of invisibility of artworks installed in public space.

Keywords : art in public space; site-specific art; everyday.
