According to the theoretical context of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), this study analyzes the occurrence of the axis "gender equality" in the construction of Digital Storytelling (DS) in an Investigation Group (IG) on a socio-scientific theme, developed with Brazilian students from 13 to 15 years old. The investigation is structured by the paradigm of qualitative research. Data were collected through a field diary, video recordings of the IG meetings and the DS produced. As a result, it was possible to observe that during the development of DS, there were reflections brought by students in relation to gender equality in the world of work and in politics and about possibilities to break with sociocultural patterns aimed at the dominant use of the male gender in language. The strategy of integrating DS to practices with RRI proved to be important for students to assume an investigative posture that allowed for a reflection on the axis of gender equality.
