Abstract
WALTER, Silvana; NETO, Pedro; PRADO, Paulo and TONTINI, Gérson. Education quality perception in a public Higher Education institution: a multimethods study. Rev. Portuguesa e Brasileira de Gestão [online]. 2011, vol.10, n.3, pp.48-59. ISSN 1645-4464.
This study aims to examine in a non-linear way the students perception of an Administration course on the education quality. Multimethods were used, performing the data collection through a qualitative method (focus groups interviews) and a quantitative (structured questionnaire), and using content analysis and a novel method, developed in this study, which combines PRC analysis aspects to binary logistic regression for data analysis. The results indicated what influence the education quality perception: staff attendance and curricular grid, considered mandatory (affecting adversely if performance is below average); image, teachers qualification and perceived learning, considered mono-dimensional (affecting proportionally to performance, positively and negatively); and grid and additional activities flexibility considered attractive (affecting positively if performance is above average). This research may contribute to future studies through the developed analysis method and by identifying the dimensions non-linear impact in the education quality perception.
