Abstract
GRECCO, Leonardo and VITORIA, Ignacio Garcia. ON POLITICS AND JUSTICE - RUMORS OF ANTI-DEMOCRACY. Revista Internacional CONSINTER de Direito [online]. 2022, n.15, pp.247-263. Epub Feb 28, 2022. ISSN 2183-6396. https://doi.org/10.19135/revista.consinter.00015.11.
In the modern democratic scenario, there is a great polarization between Politics and Justice, as if they were absolute rivals, simply due to the natural interaction of the Powers. However, it is characteristic of the Democratic system that a Power has the others always in view to stop and counterbalance the exaggerated conduct of its representatives. This is why the present study, bypassing Machiavellian teachings, does not propose a liturgy or catechism for politicians, but rather that they require a behavior of minimum value characterized by a commitment to legality, honesty and the unrestricted pursuit of the interests of the people, in order to unmask the current antagonistic idea of Politics and Justice. Thus, in an exploratory research of a reflective nature, this article aims to demonstrate that Justice and Politics coexist very well in a democratic system, provided that their representatives act in a minimally ethical way.
