Resumen
GARRIDO, Rui. May the African Justice and Human Rights Court be an African solution for the African problems?. Relações Internacionais [online]. 2017, n.54, pp.55-71. ISSN 1645-9199. https://doi.org/doi.org/10.23906/ri2017.54a05.
The relations between the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the African Union are at a breaking point. The ICC is accused of having a racist and neocolonialist stance, selectively chasing African leaders. In response, the African Union has actively sought ways to prevent the ICC from acting on the continent, such as the strengthening of the Union's judicial institutions, with the establishment of an African criminal court. This paper aims to understand the trajectory of the creation of this organ, its future role fighting impunity of grave crimes in the African continent and future relation could be established with ICC.
