Resumen

BARROS, Mariana Cicuto. Two urban intervention projects in comparison: The trajectory in the SAAL and IBC processes. CIDADES [online]. 2020, n.41, pp.196-208. ISSN 2182-3030.  https://doi.org/10.15847/cct.20453.

This article seeks to contribute to the analysis of the trajectory of urban intervention projects in Portugal implemented from the 1970s onwards from three fields of analysis. The first axis presents the main aspects of SAAL and the possible influences of Brazilian participatory experiences in its design. The second axis identifies the experiences in the housing field after SAAL and observes the changes in the participatory processes between SAAL and the IBC Critical Neighborhoods Initiative. The third axis deepens the analysis at IBC, with emphasis on the main objectives, organizational structure, identification of the different territories of intervention and participatory processes, especially in the experience of Bairro do Lagarteiro. As it is a historical process that incorporates different historical contexts, social, economic and political dimensions, the research selects the most relevant characteristics of SAAL and IBC that contribute to an attempt to understand the main similarities and differences between the respective experiences.

Palabras clave : urban intervention, participation; IBC; SAAL; social housing policy.
