Resumen

LEAL, Matheus  y  MANIESI, Vanderlei. Deforestation dynamics in the extractive settlements in the county of Humaitá, Amazonas. GOT [online]. 2018, n.14, pp.251-266. ISSN 2182-1267.  https://doi.org/10.17127/got/2018.14.010.

The Agroextractivist Settlement Project and the Sustainable Development Project were created aiming at the development of environmental conservation activities in areas of agrarian reform, wishing to reduce the impacts of deforestation. Thus, it is necessary to know the deforesting spatial dimension in these modalities, which are common to the country of Humaitá (AM State/Brazil). To achieve that goal, a Geographic Information System database was created with the aid of the ArcGis 10.3 software. The results showed that the deforestation in the rural settlements in this county is, on the average, of 188 ha/year, representing 0.04% of the total of the studied settlements. It was also observed that these rural settlements represent, on the average, 20% of the county deforested area in this same period, however, the deforested area until 2014 corresponding to these projects showed a percentage from 0 to 3%.

Palabras clave : Agrarian reform; Rural settlements; Deforestation; Amazon; PRODES.
