VAZ, Andréa Arruda; MATTOS, Kennedy Josué Greca de y MARTINS, Tais. CORPORATE SCANNERS AT AIRPORTS AND THEIR IMPACT ON INDIVIDUAL GUARANTEES. Revista Internacional CONSINTER de Direito [online]. 2023, n.17, pp.341-354. Epub 28-Feb-2024. ISSN 2183-6396. https://doi.org/10.19135/revista.consinter.00017.15.
The deployment of full-body scanner machines at airports has raised serious concerns for airport users. The use of such equipment may infringe fundamental rights and guarantees, such as privacy. Bearing in mind that the technology aims to safeguard public safety, which is also a fundamental right, what impact would the indiscriminate use of the system have on airport users? In the collision of the fundamental guarantees provided for in the Federal Constitution of 1988, how would the different institutes be treated when in conflict in the face of this situation? The research addresses this problem from the perspective of considering the principles in order to preserve intimacy and human dignity. The research does not aim to banish security systems or to substantiate weaknesses in the security system, but on the contrary, to propose that both principles can coexist together and produce effects. Deductive method and bibliographic technique are used to produce this article.
