Introduction: Breastfeeding self-efficacy is known to positively influence breastfeeding behavior and breastfeeding success; however, breastfeeding duration rates are only decreasing in our country. Objective: The aim of the study is to identify the best available evidence in the scientific literature on the improvement of breastfeeding self-efficacy in mothers with adequate social support. Methodology: An exhaustive search was conducted in WOS and SCOPUS, and then the results obtained from thirteen articles on the relationship between self-efficacy and social support were analyzed. Results: it is shown that mothers with adequate social support have increased their self-efficacy in breastfeeding. Conclusions: it is considered essential to have a correct social support in breastfeeding, to improve mothers' performance and to be able to provide them with correct teaching in a way that may help to increase their self-efficacy, their interest in learning and to improve the quality of the breastfeeding process.
