This article deals with the emergence of a new object of study in the sociology of education and with the new social processes involving the relationship between user families and the school institution. Part one looks at the development of the sociological issues and new tendencies in handling them. Part two looks at the changes which the modern family and school system have undergone in terms of their relationship. The article concludes by looking at the major emerging trends in the interaction of parents and schools.
