^lpt^aNeste artigo analisam-se as continuidades da elite política italiana durante o período da transição do regime autoritário para o regime democrático (1943-1948). Pretende-se caracterizar as elites ministeriais tanto do ponto de vista das suas biografias como das suas carreiras político-profissionais e avaliar até que ponto a variável fascismo/antifascismo foi importante para a constituição da nova elite política e, sobretudo, se estamos perante uma nova classe ou apenas face a uma recuperação da antiga elite liberal.^len^aThe objective of this article is to analyze continuities in the Italian political elite during the period of transition from authoritarianism to democracy (1943-1948). It outlines both the biographies of the ministerial elites and their political and professional careers, seeking to assess to what extent fascism/anti-fascism was a significant variable in the consolidation of the new political elite and, above all, whether this produced a new class or whether the former liberal elite merely regained its former position.
