^lpt^aO intuito deste artigo é analisar a obra gorziana da década 1970, que representa uma fase de transição no pensamento do autor. Até então, Gorz ­postulava um marxismo ortodoxo, defendendo a necessidade de um socialismo estatista e entendendo positivamente o trabalho e a tecnologia industrial. Todavia, a descoberta de Illich contribuirá para uma mudança profunda do seu pensamento. A “viragem ecológica” de Gorz consubstancia-se: i) na crítica da “civilização industrial” e da tecnologia predominante no capitalismo; ii) na crítica dos efeitos perniciosos do crescimento económico sobre a natureza. Os escritos deste período são a chave para entender o pós-marxismo tardio de Gorz.^len^aThis article analyzes the gorzian oeuvre of the 1970s, which represents a transition stage in Gorz’s thought. Up to this period, Gorz advocated an orthodox Marxism, defending the necessity of state socialism and understanding both labor and industrial technology positively. However, the discovery of Illich contributed to a profound change in his thought. The “greening” of Gorz manifests itself in: i) criticism of “industrial civilization” and of the prevailing technology in capitalism; ii) criticism of the harmful effects of economic growth on the environment. The wittings of this period are the key to understand Gorz’s late post-Marxism.
