It aims to analyze labor by taking into account job segregation and stories of the female workers' resistance. The conceptual basis is feminist geography, which takes into consideration patriarchy and paid labor from the perspective of the division of labor by gender. Reflection was based on field observations and interviews conducted in 2012 with eleven people involved in the fishery sector namely female workers, executives, representatives of companies' associations and union members. Five interviews conducted with female workers between 1994 and 1997 were also included. Taking into account labor segregation and collective acts of resistance, the results of this study show that this sector continues the characteristic exploitation of women's labor regarding low pay and reduced chances for promotion, besides the sporadic use of this labor force
