SANTOS, Joaquim Quelhas dos. Biologic agriculture and fertilisation. []. , 35, 1, pp.49-58. ISSN 0871-018X.

Taking in account the present level of knowledge, it doesn’t seem to be correct to interdict the use of some production factors, namely mineral fertilizers, in the so called biologic agriculture. In fact, it is easy to prove that mineral fertilizers have a decisive contribution to increase the production without environmental damage in atmosphere, soils, waters and agricultural products. It is so, if mineral fertilizers are correctly used, which means how much, what kind, when and how to use them in order to satisfy the plant needs and characteristic of the local soil and climate conditions. In fact, it is perfectly acceptable that in terms of some aspects of sanitary quality, the so called biologic products can be more dangerous then same products obtained by traditional agriculture.
