The use of plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPBs) may promote increased biological nitrogen fixation efficiency (BNF), with benefits in soybean development and grain yield. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of co-inoculation of rhizobia with PGPBs species inoculated on the seeds or applied to the plant tissue, evaluating the nodulation, N accumulation in shoots and grain yield of soybean in Cerrado region. The experiment was conducted in no-tillage system in an Oxisol with a clay texture in irrigated cultivation. The experimental design was a randomized block design with four replicates, arranged in a 6x2+3 factorial scheme, with the co-inoculation of rhizobia with six BPCPs (Azospirillum brasilense, Bacillus amyloliquefacens, B. licheniformis, B. pumilus, B. subtilisand Pseudomonas fluorescens), with seed inoculation or directed jet at the base of the plant at the V3 stage of soybean. It was also included  the control without inoculation and without N, inoculation of seeds only with rhizobia (Bradyrhizobium japonicum), and treatment with nitrogen fertilization (urea). The B. licheniformis with seed inoculation provided greater nodulation and N accumulation in the aerial part. The grain yield of co-inoculated soybeans was not higher than that of soybean inoculated with Bradyrhizobium japonicum, regardless of the form of co-inoculation. Among the bacteria, the B. amyloliquefaciens co-inoculated via seed and the B. pumilus and B. licheniformis directed jet at the base of the plant at the V3 stage provided higher grain yield.
